Lighting for the National Museum of Qatar in Doha, integrating illumination into Jean Nouvel’s complex composition of intersecting architectural forms.

CHALLENGE

To realize a comprehensive lighting design across a highly complex museum where architecture, structure, exhibitions, circulation, and technical systems converge at an exceptional scale.

PROCESS

As Project Director, I led the coordination and delivery of the lighting design across the project, working through the architectural complexity, interdisciplinary coordination, technical requirements, and numerous individual lighting conditions required to translate the design intent into the completed museum.

OUTCOME

An integrated lighting environment that supports the museum’s exhibitions and circulation while reinforcing the geometry, materiality, and spatial character of the architecture.
