Parsell Residence
Our home for seven years, Parsell Street was a renovation I carried from purchase through construction, daily use and eventual sale. My husband contributed to the interior design, while I led the renovation as designer and general contractor, combining hands-on labor with budgeting and trade coordination.
CHALLENGE
Transform a property purchased for $45,000 into a home for our life together, working within a renovation investment of approximately $200,000. Every decision connected design ambitions with the practical demands of cost, construction and long-term upkeep.
PROCESS
I developed the renovation design, managed the budget, supervised trades and performed construction work myself. The interiors evolved through our shared life in the house, with my husband contributing furnishings and decorative direction. For the final photography, I edited and styled the rooms to bring the architecture and material palette into focus.
OUTCOME
A home we shaped and cared for until its sale seven years later for almost $800,000. The project reflects both a personal collaboration and my sustained responsibility across the ownership cycle—from acquisition and renovation through maintenance, presentation and sale.
