Arlington Club

A New York restaurant created as the first collaboration between Tao Group and chef Laurent Tourondel, with an architectural language inspired by the monumental interior of the original Pennsylvania Station.
CHALLENGE
To establish an architectural identity for a new collaboration between a major hospitality group and a celebrated chef, creating a restaurant with the scale, presence, and sense of occasion appropriate to both.
PROCESS
The design drew from the spatial character of the original, since-demolished Pennsylvania Station—not as a literal historical reconstruction, but as a point of departure for scale, repetition, rhythm, material, and the experience of moving through a grand interior.
OUTCOME
A contemporary restaurant environment with a strong sense of architectural procession and monumentality, translating the memory of a lost New York landmark into a new hospitality setting.
