A rooftop environment created for the Esquire Show House, transforming an exterior terrace into an atmospheric setting for gathering and entertainment.
CHALLENGE
To establish a distinct spatial experience on an exposed rooftop while preserving the openness, views, and inherently temporary character of a show-house installation.
PROCESS
Light became a primary architectural material. A canopy provided both spatial definition and a surface for projected, water-like light, while low-level illumination, candles, furnishings, and the surrounding skyline completed the environment.
OUTCOME
An immersive rooftop room defined less by enclosure than by light, projection, atmosphere, and the city beyond.
